Self-described as being somewhere between J Cole and Joni Mitchell, Joel will bring his earnest lyrics and distinctive vocals to fans at the bandstand. Songwriter, producer, singer and poet, JOEL BAKER will also perform at Homegrown. The indie-pop three piece were recently nominated as Best Live Act, in an awards category with the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club and AJ Tracey, and notably became a viral sensation on TikTok with their Oasis/Bronski Beat mash-up. Blurring the line between timeless 80s synth-pop and contemporary discernment, Deco create undeniable bops with a bite. Headlining the bandstand this year are DECO. 2020 saw the launch of the outdoor event, which was undoubtedly a resounding success recently earning a nomination for the Live Music Innovation (Event Series) Award for the industry leading Music Week Awards 2021. ![]() Homegrown will once again bring some of the best musical talent from the East Midlands to the beautiful Nottingham Arboretum and its iconic bandstand, in conjunction with BBC Introducing.
